Bottom: U B A 85770

Left:Hand stenciled upside down arrow next to Z

The letters sit in the corners of a large plus sign.

The logo is a British proof mark and the RSAF means
R = Royal
S = Small
A = Arms
F = Factory

Although the bolt was made by BSA (private company) it was inspected at Enfield hence the marking (Quality control check).

1. Old proof stamp GR means George Rex (King George VI 1936 - 1952)
2. New proof stamp ER means Elizabeth Regina (Queen Elizabeth II 1952 onwards)
3. RSAF proof mark
4. proof mark found on bolts or carriers
