OK I'm just about ready to try it but I have two last questions that a search din't help. Do I need to worry about the chromed end of the gas plug? Tape over it to be sure? Same for the inside of the gas tube. I'm pretty sure it's not chromed (Imbel, Dan's Grade 3). Will the park affect the pistons travel? If I should plug it how do you recommend I plug the bleed holes?
Thanks in advance!

Park will not effect the chrome at all. As far as the gas tube (if its not chromed), the piston's travel shouldn't be a problem after the first few shots (if at all) any more than parked bolts & carriers moving through parked receivers or bullets moving down parked bores. The "rough" park will be smoothed or removed within a few shots.

You do want to tape the chromed portion of the gas plug if you are blasting first. You don't want the abrasive roughing up that surface. Rwwje is correct, the park solution won't affect it at all.
The gas tube can go right in, no problem. It's a good idea to swab out the inside with some oil after parking, then swab it dry so that it's squeaky clean.

Thanks guys! I thought I was correct but just wanted to make sure. I did tape the gas plug before blasting and I figured since the tube was pretty smooth inside that the park wouldn't do much to it anyway and it would wear in afterwards.
