Looking at getting a Nagant and see AIM has 91/59s
They look very appealing to me but I dont seem to
beable to find much info on them. Not even on the Mosin site.
Anyoone know anything about these?

the 91/59 is nothing more then a 91/30 that was cut down to a carbine. the rear sights on these had the register increments ground off and only left the numbers that is appropriate to a carbine.
from what I have read on some sites these where issued to police and security forces......don't know how true that is, but it any event, The 91/59 is quite possibly the last Mosin produced (modified) by the Russians, in 1959
I have a 91/30 and a 44.....and to tell you the truth, firing a 56r round out of a 44 gives you a very brutal recoil, so much so that I prefer shooting my 91/30 then the carbine length. and have no desire to get another carbine length M-N

I dunno why but I just have a hankering to get a carbine length Nagant and a
carbine length 8mm mauser (maybe a M48 or M48BO or something.)

There is no concrete evidence published in English about who made these. There is a story that the Bulgarians made them, or it could have been the Russians.
These are the best made Mosin carbines, however. The build quality is better than that of the M44's and 1938 Carbine. They are generally more accurate too, especially more accurate than the M44. They do not often come into this country so I would buy one from AIM now if you feel that you will ever want one. $109 plus shipping is a great deal. I have one and I really like it.
