Hi Everyone,
I have an FSE M02 HTS in my M444, and the hammer interferes with the bolt travel enough to cause problems with cycling.
Sometimes, the bolt does not travel far enough back to engage the sear, and sometimes it fails to load a second round.
I have tested the rifle with the gas adjusted from partway to all the way closed, using South African, Port, and Hirt.
Same problem with all 3.
I have tried different mags.
The carrier slides freely on the rails if the bolt is not in it, and the headspace is good.
I campared the HTS to the Entreprise HTS in my STG58, and the entreprise Hammer is much closer to horizontal when cocked that the FSE unit.
There is visible "polishing" of the hammer where it is engaging the bolt during travel.
If I do not pull back the charging hammer all the way and let it slap forward, it can sometimes hang on the hammer.
Is this a known problem?
Is there something I can do myself to fix this?
I have never removed the setup myself, so I would need a bit of hand holding on it.
Oh yeah, I also get the occasional double tap from it when at the range.
I am always afraid to look down at the rangemaster when it happens, scarey and embarrasing :uhoh:
Please help. This beautiful rifle is unreliable right now because of this.
Thanks in advance!
