I bought a mosin nagant from harlem at fac. It has a 1943 date reciever. The only marking on the barrel is a arrow and a I mark what russia company made this rifle.

sounds like an Izhevsk gun, can you post a picture?

I do not have a camera yet.I was thinking the same thing that it maybe a ishevsk. Were they good like the tula. Was there any difference in Quailty

quality is the same as Tula, in fact I have never heard of " the crappy factory" in Russia, I figured with them being all pinkos, the the work was crap they would shoot the whole crew, and then bring in more people to train.
As long as the barrel is good, then you really can't do wrong, the M-44 is a hoot to shoot, I have several in my safe, no better way to announce your arrival at the range.:)
