View Full Version : Alumalite fit....OK, so it's just a cosmetic issue anyway :-)

Well gang,
I pulled down the original thread that asked Williams about the mis-matched cosmetic fit on the STG lower because after more thought I figured it really is only a cosmetic thing and no biggie.

As pointed out buy some other members, it would be impossible for a manufacturer to build receivers to match ALL applications (Imbel, STG, L1A1 etc) so if the cosmetic thing does bug you, (as Dirtfarmer so gratiously pointed out :-) it should be no problem to alter our STG lowers to match the upper with a little (ouch!) Dremel work.

The main thing is we finally have a new Alumalite receiver to build the Ultimate Lightweight FAL and we got a great deal on 'em too!

Best Regards,

Mark Powell

Mark, Mark, Mark. Lest we forget. WECSOG Dremel tool grinding will take care of the "misfit" on that lower.

Put the upper on. Get a scribe. Scribe the line on the lower and fire up the Dremel grinder and vewy vewy carefully grind away all that deosn't match.

Now you too can become a memeber of the WECSOG!

It was a joke. Mark would be nuts to Dremel the Hindminmum (SP) lower. ;)

Just a freindly jab!

However, my G1 lower might be a different story! :D

Don't worry Dirtfarmer....no Dremel will ever touch this lower.

Now the Williams upper may be a different story. ;-)

(kidding of course)

I'll just use modeling clay and "sculpt" my own custom fit.
