308-Yes, the base library has a little hard cover collection from eighties. They are chock full o' that old time FAL lovin'. I found a pic of a Royal Marine Commando holding an L1A1 decked out in a swank-ass arctic camo job. I spent all day beefing that "Inside FAL" image up, their scanner sucks. I will buy one soon, check out the collection, post scans galore, and give everyone a peep show.

I thought I was the only one who bought that set. Very cool bunch of books. Have all kinds of military stuff in em with diagrams of tanks and small unit tactics etc. My set is in storage right now I need to buy another book case. maybe one day Ill dig through them and scan all the FAL pics and post them. They definetly had a bunch of them.

Mother: Do you have contact info for that magazine? I'd like to get permissions to add that to the site.

If you look at the link I posted it names it:

TANSTAAFL /tan'stah-fl/ [acronym, from Robert Heinlein's classic "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress".] "There Ain't No
Such Thing As A Free Lunch", often invoked when someone is balking at the prospect of using an unpleasantly heavyweight
technique, or at the poor quality of some piece of software, or at the signal-to-noise ratio of unmoderated Usenet newsgroups.
"What? Don't tell me I have to implement a database back end to get my address book program to work!" "Well, TANSTAAFL
you know." This phrase owes some of its popularity to the high concentration of science-fiction fans and political libertarians in
hackerdom (see Appendix B for discussion).

send the Lira to my swiss bank account and the tootsie roll to Jen! http://www.fnfal.com/forums/biggrin.gif http://www.fnfal.com/forums/biggrin.gif http://www.fnfal.com/forums/biggrin.gif

jen,
Sorry it took so long to reply, I've been at work (sometimes I have to be there for several days w/out coming home). I will have to go back to the library to see if I can find the artist/copyright owner. The picture has appeared in a number of publications, so I don't know if you will get very far contacting an editor.
