Looks Good! Man you are quick getting done that which needs to be done. Perhaps GWB has a position for you in government?

A couple of questions. First, if we order more than one, do we get a discount (at least on shipping)? Second, it has a slab side on it. If you were to mill off about .030" off of each side at the level of the shelf from the outside of the ears, prior to hogging out the center, it would probably look SO much cooler!

Ok, here's where my ignorance is showing. Whats the difference between the Para sights and the standard STG sights? I'm having a STG kit built up and wondering if I should invest in the Para sights.

Is the difference cosmetic, or practical? Do the para sights have better aperatures or adjustments? etc.

Thanks

Trebor

Excellent work TNT!! A M.O. will be in the mail on Tuesday the 26th for "two" PARA sights. I'd like the A2 apertures if possible. I also agree with Major B about milling .030 off the sides if possible. If not I'll be happy with what you send. As per Major B what would be the shipping on two?

Many thanks from the free state of Idaho!

Happy holidays all...

~Talyn

PS: Trebor. The standard sights would have more elevation adjustments than the PARA, however you should be able to get a good battle zero by adjusting the front sight. The PARA will offer more protection because of the ears, although the standard is very durable.

Trebor:

the Para has only two positions, just like the M16. The standard sights have 0-600m adjustments, or yards if you have an Inch-pattern. The Canadian rotor uses a disc in a flip-up assembly. VERY cool.

I have seen some backsights marked for a 700m increment.

So it will look kinda like an UZI sight? I can take a 3/4" end mill and try it. I kept it slab-side to maintain the original Para look. Sight will come standard with an A2 aperture. Pics this evening. Have a few more presents for Christmas to take care of this afternoon.

can some one please explain what the difference is between a "a1"aperture and a "a2"aperture ?
thanks

An A1 aperture has 2 equal size apertures, one for up to 300 meters, the other for 300-500 meters. The long range aperture sits a little higher to raise the trajectory of the 55 grain M193 Ball, to hit near point-of-aim, at 300-500 meters.

An A2 sight has a large and small aperture, the larger for up to 200 meters, and the smaller ("target" aperture) for 300-800 meters. Both apertures are supposed to be on the same plane, as the elevation is adjusted with the elevation knob

The DSA Para sight has two apertures for 150 meters, and 250 meters, as there is no elevation adjustment on the Para base.

Trajectory for .223 and .308 Match Ammo:
100 200 400 600 800
Fed .223 Zero -3.2 -28.3 -89.4 -207 Inches
Fed .308 Zero -4.5 -35.5 -105 -228 Inches

Warning Order!!!!!!! Next project is a post-ban legal "pseudo-para" stock assembly, that uses a standard bolt carrier. The stock will require a permanent modification to your lower receiver assembly. A board member (Thanks Matt!!!!) is lending me a DSA para assembly for measuring. Hope to have pics done by New Year's Day.

TNT,

My order ltr. and M.O. for 2 PARA sights went out in todays mail. Questions. What is the permanent modification to a lower? Will it preclude a switch back to a solid stock?

Many thanks for your hard work and efforts!

Talyn

Well, the tang that for the bottom of the stock is shortened. The hole for the recoil spring tube must be milled out horizontal, and a sleeve silver soldered in place. Another hole drilled and tapped on back of the lower, near the rear sight. And, change out the rat-tail. But, like I was told, R1 kits are so cheap right now! Actually, you'll just need to buy another bolt carrier and stripped lower receiver, then send to me for modification, installation and parkerization! Lemme finish this run of "TNT ARmoury Tactical FAL Sights" (Color it black, call it 'tactical' and people will buy it! lol) Details to follow!!!!

Dixiejarhead,
I can only take credit card payments through PayPal at this time. Too small of an operation. I'm a full-time LEO, and do this on the side for relaxation.
