Does anybody know where I can get a new carry handle and that little clip that holds it on? I looked at tapco but all they have is the entire handle assembly.

Penguin has new molded handles.
The little clip could be tricky. Try Gunthings.com. Send 'em an email. I'll bet they can fix you up. They probably have handles too.
Of course, if it were me, I'd buy a kit, and scrounge it for the clip. Then, I'd have to buy another kit because the first one is now missing a part. You know how it goes.

You can get penguin's plastic handle alone for $7.95 from gunthings.com. I have one but I'm curious as to how bakeable it is. Does anyone know if penguin's carry handles can take 300 degrees like his other parts? Don't want it to end up like the one its replacing :uhoh:

is it just me or is the imbel /penguin handle way longer than the G1 steel ? I had to cut mine down between 1/4 and 1/2 inch. then I had to dremel out a recess for the clip to hide in. not a big problem but it looks slightly out of place. PS what is a GOOD method of putting a clip back on ( when it is down there in a recessed hole )

Gunplumber had replacement G1 plastic a few months ago that looks a lot nicer than the beat up piece I got with my kit.
As far as the recessed hole goes, I can only guess that using a dowel or something of the same diameter of the hole might allow you to tap it on. I got a small breaker bar from the dollar store that's cheap white metal and couldn't take any kind of bending force, but one of the holes drilled in it allows for an effortless installation of the carryhandle plastic. I guess it's a good $1 FAL tool.
