OK, I have an Imbel M-444, now I'd like to get parts, etc. together for an 18" FAL build with Ironwood furniture by Gunplumber/ARS. I've done some research, and here are my ideas for parts and sources. Please comment and suggest better alternatives if possible:

Imbel NGL Type 3 upper - from likemopar (on the way!)

Dan's Grade III Imbel parts kit - from Dan's, naturally.

Ironwood walnut handguard, PG, and buttstock (3 US parts)
- from Dan at VOW

Penguin recoil pad - from Gerald

FSE metric folding cocking handle (1 US part) - from Moses or ARS

FSE H/T/S (3 US parts) - from Moses or ARS

FSE or DSA gas piston (1 US part) - from Moses, ARS or DSA

DSA fake Belgian long flash hider (1 US part) - from ARS or DSA

Replacement barrel (if needed) - from ARS

Modified inch selector (for ergonomics) - from ARS

To be refinished in Metacol III satin black by ARS. Nine (9) total US parts.

Did I miss anything? Am I being way too complicated?

This is what I'd like it to look like (except for the parkerizing, cocking handle, and selector). The photo is from Gunplumber's website:

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Why so many US parts?

bookertbab, I figured if I'm going to get one built by Gunplumber, I might as well go with top-of-the-line parts by DSA or FSE. I suppose I could dispense with the gas piston and use the Imbel kit's. However, the FSE H/T/S is a must, and I think the folding cocking handle is so... cool :D

The Ironwood, of course, automatically counts for three, and the fake Belgian long flashider is part of the look I want. OK, go ahead, call me shallow.

How is the quality of the Dan's Imbel Grade III bores?

I've bought 25+ Imbel kits from Dan's, the worst of which was excellent. Some of them look like they were carried around by the barrel and never fired. Gunplumber will do you a great job, the one pictured looks very similar to one of mine, but it has a 16 1/4" barrel. Dan.
