I just got fully activated. I was in limbo land there for awhile.

I went to a local gun show a few weeks ago and a guy was selling a DSA FAL SA58.

I sent the serial number to DSA and got back this response:
The rifle in question was built as a complete firearm and left on 12/08/2009. It is an LMT receiver and would be an STG58 kit juding from the time frame. It does fall into the recall time frame as well, so if you would like to have it sent in to be tested we can set that up as well.

So the rifle has now been sent off for the recall.

Sorry about that. Not sure what went wrong. I have posted them elsewhere and it didn't blow them up to poster size.

Welcome to the forum and Congrats on your FAL. I just acquired my first fal, too. A SA58 like yours but manufactured Oct/2012.

I hope the turnaround is short.

What was the reason for the recall?

Alloy trigger housing. Does anyone know what the actual defect was? I remember them getting called back but didn't pay enough attention to understand the problem with them.

Improper heat treating. Here's a thread on the problem from 2010. 2017 and it's the same old DSA.

Welcome aboard. If you're lucky, they won't loose your bolt during the "repair".
