So after a year of owning my Stg58, I just noticed a new serial number on a part laying next to me (since itís off the gun) and it really just threw me for a loop
The inside of the bipod collar/clamp whatever you want to call it is marked ď331Ē, which was confusing on its own right because Iíve never heard of bipod serials. Doubly confusing is that my Stg58 serials are all ď125433Ē
Anyone got some info on this?

Pictures? What is so confusing? The clam shell is usually numbered inside.

I wasnít aware, nor had I ever heard about it honestly. Iíve even taken on and off my bipod a dozen times and never noticed it before
I was mostly wondering there was a way to know it matches this kit

The StG58, G1, and BGS bipod clamps normally have 3 digit serial #'s stamped inside (presumably the last 3 digits of the full rifle serial #).

The funny thing is they never seem to match the rest of the parts kit. I've never heard a good explanation as to why. As hard as some are to get off, there doesn't seem to be a good reason why they would be swapped around in service.
