I'm sure I'm late to the party on this one, but just saw that Ruger is making the Super Redhawk in 10mm. I am a huge fan of the 10, but my dream would be if Ruger would come out with one on the GP100 frame. Would that even be possible....?

Buds has the Blackhawk in stock for about $639 in a convertible 10 to 40 which would be fun to play with. The Redhawks are too big in my opinion for a 10mm so I like your idea of a 10mm on a GP frame.

IIRC Clements custom guns did some 5 shot 10mm on a GP100

an answer for a question nobody wants to ask. that being said, i saw an example of a 32 H&R mag converted to 7.62X25. now that was cool. also saw a K Smith converted from 32 long to 7.62X25.

Was Clark involved? Talk about a hand grenade.

clark? now there is a name not heard in awhile...it was a 1930's K frame, so a bit of a shame as 32 long in a K frame is rather uncommon. it would have been better a 32-20 was sacrificed upon the altar. get back on yer tracter, farmer.

As in, Clark, the guy who insisted on buggering up many guns a decade ago, then reloaded for them till they blew up? That guy?

According to my records I bought one of the "Buckeye Special" NM Blackhawks .40 Convertibles back in 1994. It has two cylinders for the .38-40 Win and the 10mm Auto.

I bought it because I was curious about the old 38-40 round. However I did chronograph some factory 10mm Auto loads in that 6.5 inch barrel.

Norma 200 grain FMJ: 1119 fps. This is the tamed down load that Norma began producing after reports of the original 1200 fps load was damaging the Colt Delta Elite.

Norma 170 grain JHP: 1385 fps. This is the original load that was rated at 1300 fps out of a five inch barrel.

CorBon 135 grain JHP: 1596 fps. This load used the Nosler bullet. At almost 1600 fps it is rip snorting to say the least. I honestly don't see much use for this light of a bullet in the 10mm.

Winchester 175 grain SilverTip JHP: 1301 fps. This load did 1229 fps in my Delta Elite. Fairly warm load in the Blackhawk. It would make a decent "walk in the woods" load if one wanted to carry a heavy SA revolver. But then I own a NM 6.5 inch .41 Magnum Blackhawk and frankly it would be a better choice IMHO.

I wish I had bought one of the S&W Model 610's with the five inch barrel when it was introduced in 1990. It would have made a good match to my Model 625-2 .45 ACP/Auto Rim Model of 1988.

And so it goes.

He popped up on some other forum I am on in the last year. Doing some questionable hotrodding on a milsurp of some sort...

Anyway, tractor driving is done for the year, into planning, book keeping, and fixing broken shit time of year.

Ditto on the S&W 610. I always thought that would be the ultimate "walking through the woods" gun. But since the price of one of those has skyrocketed, I continue to use my birthday wishes to wish for a Ruger GP100 in 10mm. Anybody have any influence with the Ruger board of directors....???

I had one, sold it when prices got ridiculous($1400ish well worn). It had a purpose that it did well, and that was playing action shooting games. It was heavy and a pain to reload if you weren't shooting all 6. If I am going to carry a gun that heavy in the woods, it will be a 44.

Huge 10mm fan...glock,eaa witness match, sold the ria tac ops 1911 (it sucks)..reload everything for them. Wouldn't mind a 610 but the prices are stupid. Missed a 1006 last year for 700..but 610 aside, I as well if carrying a revolver will have it start with a 4 and end with one too..16rds of 10mm in my g40 is sweet, but it is still not a 44maggie...

why bother? I already have a model 57 in 41 magnum.
for those who don't know, a smith and wesson model 57 is a look alike to the infamous model 29
41 magnum, same frame as the 29. 8-3/8 barrel, target sights, blue that is so polished it looks like black chrome.
what's not to like and the loads are hotter then a 10 mm.
I CAN see a 10 in their R1 1911 type auto loader though!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder why they didn't make a 10mm GP-100?

The Redhawk is a big revolver - might as well carry a 44mag or 45LC in it.

Super Redhawk, even bigger/heavier than a regular Redhawk. I wouldn't turn down a nice 5" or 5 1/2" .41 Mag. Redhawk, but I don't need another Super (got a .480).
