I am pretty new to FALs and brand new to the forum. I recently purchased this lower off a local gun board. It was an impulse buy, but I thought at $35 if I over paid it couldn't be by much. From what I have learned lurking the sight I think it's a STG 58.....maybe? My apologies for the bad pics, my camera-fu is weak. Any help would be appreciated.

No relief above the S makes it correct for the StG-58 too.

Thank you for the info. So I am assuming that the reason it has no serial number stamped on it is that was something that was done after it was matched up with a upper, bolt, bolt carrier, barrel?

I wish I still had a few from when they were $99 each 15+ years ago. Gotta' love that wax cloth.

Mine had relief "lightening" cuts on the inside of the receiver, does yours?

Nice score for $35. I think it is safe to say that the lower is worth substantially more than $99. ;)

Man, I am so new to the FAL and ignorant about the platform that I don't even know what you really mean. When I get home this evening I will take a few pics of the inside of the receiver to show you what it looks like. I had no idea of the current value, but I though that a "NOS, still in the box" lower receiver had to be at least worth the asking price of $35 dollars. I am glad to hear it is worth at least $100 now days. Finally, I do love the wax cloth, lol. The thickest, most impregnated with some kind of protective goo, but still doesn't bleed through the outside of the paper/box combination I have ever seen! I wish I still had a few from when they were $99 each 15+ years ago. Gotta' love that wax cloth.

The cloth is a cheese cloth that is impregnated with bee's wax. 100.00 is a low figure. I've seen them sell as high as 200.00 on auction boards. Hope you kissed the person before you screwed them.

Sorry for the late reply.....here is a pic of what I think is the "lightening" cut inside the receiver. It has the same cut on both sides. All the stuff on the exterior of the receiver is a refection of the bees wax...man that stuff is sticky.
