My wife and I went leaf peeping and hiking a couple of weekends ago in the White Mountains in New Hampshire and I happen to notice Green Mountain Barrel Co. in Conway, NH. Went in for a few minutes to check if FAL barrels were available (they weren't, gentleman there didn't know what a FAL was). Plenty of AR and other barrels though.

I happen to notice a wooden barrel with some very complex machined barrels in the white. They were Aug clone barrels that had been manufactured for Microtech Ind for their Aug clone. These barrels were approx. 12 inches long, perhaps longer, chrome lined and in the white, they were only $25 each. I was impressed at the low price for such a highly machined barrel.

Don't know if the standard Aug takes a barrel that short but if anyone is interested I would call Green Mountain and inquire.

Don't think a Microtech will fit an AUG, but plenty of people bought the Microtech. Thanks for the heads up. If I ever get my mag release fixed, it would be nice to have another barrel for it.

Did they have the gas block on them?

No gasblock, only an in-the-white barrel with grooves machined into them.

That gentleman is a moron as I have a Green Mountain L1A1 barrel that came with a kit I purchased years ago.

AFAIK, GM makes small (100+) custom runs if you ask them. But that means you are paying for the entire run. And then you do whatever you want with said barrels. For instance, who made the L1A1 and CETME L barrels Apex was selling and the BM59 ITAL barrels sold by Sarco?
