Complete kits are not that common, but with a little effort you can definitely assemble all the parts. Generally the barrel is the hardest part to find, well unless you count the handguard screw (that's just impossible). They do make for very unique looking FALs. Seek out member Huss as he usually knows the best places to find parts for Indian builds.

The handguard screws are not hard to find, you just gotta want it..................the original screw is on the left. I made these for a member on here.

Depending on price, maybe you make a dozen for me to resell. Got my store images reshot for the most part. Heck, If you have a screw machine, I got several screws that need making.

Well,

I think you're nuts. Because of some ghurka numbers you want to go down the rabbit hole on what is easily considered the lowest quality FAL "type" rifle out there.

I have had several Indian pieces including complete lowers that I have given away for free because they looked so aweful. Do yourself a favor and find an nice Brit kit or rifle and paint some Ghurka numbers on there.

In the long run you will have a nice and respectable rifle if you ever get tired of it.

You are talking to someone who has two Ishapore Lee Enfields (one 303 and the other 7.62) and is very proud of them.

And a Gahendra

It is Bengali. It is similar to Hindi and Gorkha, but the one character that eliminates all the other numerical systems is that 5. It is unique to Bengali.

Bengali is used in the Northeastern area of India. Further research as suggested that neither Indian Ghurka regiment marked their rifles like that (from a guy who served with them). But they are UK Brit Walnut stocks, not Indian stocks. "Indian arsenal do not use these text. I think Its from the 1971 India Pakistan war, where India supplied these rifles to the the Bengali rebels in Bangladesh."

I love mine too and it shoots great. It took me about 10 years to find all the parts. And gunplumber is correct, the writing is Bengali.

I have some Indian gas blocks with sights if you are interested. I bought them for a Meeper switch barrel FAL project that never got built.

Back in the early 90s the genuine Indian 1A1 rifles were going for $225 cdn up in Canada. A friend of mine in Toronto bought one and I took pictures. Now if someone will tell me how to post them, everybody can look. It was made in 1976 and blued, by God it was ugly. Lots of weird markings. Also, Iíve seen RFI magazines here in Michigan.

waltmilan, to post pics here now, don't go with Photobucket. I, along with many other here, have used them up until recently when they changed things up and got screwy. Now, I use Imgur. It's free and fairly easy (if I can do it, anyone can!). At the end of the choices, I select "Huge Thumbnail" as it gives the proper size photo in the thread. Good luck.
