Thanks a ton.
I would like to say that the imperfection mentioned there is present on mine.

No clue, but I had CA30999 - very accurate, honest 2moa rifle. Functioned fine, only issues were the mags were really tight to insert and the front sight height was a mis-match (judicious filing fixed that).

Came configured as all-metric, no muzzle device and no provision for one.

Mine is almost exactly as you describe, the mags fit perfectly though, my rifle isnt too far off from yours, I will probably get the barrel threaded sooner or later.

The rumor I heard/read when I bought mine forever ago was that the barrels are a US part and came from a quality maker (Green Mountain, known for 10/22 barrels and accuracy)

I'd get a scope on it and shoot for groups - if it is a honest sub-3moa gun then I wouldn't mess with the muzzle at all.

Hint - none of the 3 FALs I've owned since (various kit builds on DCI receivers) have been anywhere close to being as accurate as that R1A1

First FAL for me, hope to buy an SA58 pistol on my 21st, maybe build an STG58 or israeli heavy barrel at some point

Nice rifle, radical.

I'd either thread the muzzle for a combo device and swap it for a Type D "humpback" stock (personal preference of mine) or leave it as-is and slap a wood Type C stock on it.

Found a type C wood stock, 75 shipped, should I ????
