Hello, I hope this post is in the right section....I was considering installing a Magpul fixed carbine stock on my 308 AR build. I wanted to get the length of pull close to an A1 stock. Does Magpul make a thicker or extended butt pad that will fit the screw pattern of the Fixed Carbine stock?

Thanks

The Magpul PRS extended butt pad will fit. It only adds about a half-inch. It's probably another half to three quarters of an inch before I'd get to an ideal LOP.

I'm trying to figure out how to eliminate the slop. The stock moves back and forth about a quarter-inch.

I did see something whereby a drill press was used on the buffer tube and then it was filled square, so that the stock's retaining screw would go through that point, which I imagine would solve both issues.

Magpul make a pad that is .80, but is still shorter then the A1 stock.

You could try that. A lot of people have looked and the .80 extension isn't enough for many, and no aftermarket as of yet to make it longer.
