Bolt and hand tube/barrel nut arrived today. tube/barrel nut isn't screwed in all the way proper (tomorrow after work!) but should end up being pretty much flush with end cap opening. Yes, end cap can slide down barrel no problem - perfect fit :)

Anyway, I want "small slim and stylish" and not tacticrap. So far I'm torn between a basic A2 style bird cage, and a plain knurled thread protector.

Is there anything else worth considering? Remember, 1/2x36 threads...

Just out of curiosity, why 1/2-36 and not the standard 1/2-28?

Because 1/2-36 is standard for 9mm barrels :)

And yes, you can get 1/2-28 9mm barrels but they cost a lot more.

ran into the same issue (1/2x36 colt threads) on my 9mm barrel. just stayed with the A2 that came with it. unless you get a tap mad make something work, what i am currently thinking about.

Welp, nothing came with it. Need to twist teh barrel nut on properly, and get a riser for my red dot sight and I can at least shoot it...

Got barrel nut installed, etc. today. Got charging handle, 33 round mag, and scope riser for $95 locally today (screw shipping, hurricane on the way!) so ready to shoot. Still need muzzle device...

If you plan to can it at some point I'd get a QD for one of the major makers. Serves just fine as a FH, but when the time comes (and hopefully that SHUSH bill!!!!) it's a matter of plug and play. AAC, YHM, even aftermarket versions for build-it-yourself types are all options, and they look decent as well.
