Now that I have finally got my SLR at least all inch pattern, I need a bayonet for it. I would prefer a knife style but do not have a country of origin preference, mostly because I know nothing about SLR bayonets. Any recomondations would be appreciated, including current market values would help. I would like to have a sheath/scabbard as well.

I could use a good sling as well.

All inch pattern bayonets were "knife style" blades. Go to FleaBay and search for L1A1 bayonet. You will be surprised by what you can find with so little work.

I have been looking quite a bit. But I was hoping experts here would have preferences and point me in a direction to get a quality piece.

British, Australian or Canadian manufactured bayonets are ALL quality pieces. What makes you choose one over the others is condition, if you want the bayonet to match the country of origin of the rifle and price. The only one I would not purchase is one of Indian manufacture.

Also look on FleaBay for L1A1 slings.

When I see that last bayonet, C1 letter opener, I keep picturing the Crocodile Dundee seen.

Hi Kevin, do you ever do the Arms & Militaria shows around the island ?

No, but I have done the gun shows that were held in Lower Hutt until they started to refurbish/rebuild the townhall.... which is still ongoing.

That's only half of it, I designed the display boards so you can also use the back sides of them doubling the number of rifles :)

Last time I looked, I think Numrich had a batch of the L1A1 bayonets available on their website (but I'm not sure if they are sold out or not at the moment). Might check there?
