Do not mistake me for a newbee that chops up good wood. As a Vet. I collect more than just HK stuff. I have a 50-50 repair rate.

Really cool.

How are you separating the metal from the wood? I have an old G3 in for repark and normally I hust mask the wood to blast the metal, then park the whole thing. But I'd love to be able to remopve and redo the stock and handguard rivets.

Mark, I use a wood screw about the same size as the tubular rivet, and lay the steel end over a armorers puck hole, and use a small punch that will fit through the opposite rivet. Usually 3-4 good quick hits with a small hammer will straighten the inner flare and will come out. I usually have to use a pair of pliers to more less unscrew the wood screw from the rivet. RTG now has the rivets in stock. It's not unusual for some pieces of the old thin parts to break off in the steel end, but they are easliy removed with a pick. The back one can be a little harder because it's flared over a steel washer, but not too bad. I was actually reusing these rivets.

Do you know of anyone that makes or supplies a left handed grip? I know the Germans frowned upon left handed riflemen so this part might be unobtanium.

I have modified the wood and polymer grips for my son. The polymer is actually a littler longer process having to reapply texture, then cerakote to seal it up. The wood grips J.Downey makes, Sold by RTG are a little easier as they can be modified and then completely finish sanded and stained.

I have the wood stock but I'm looking for one of the wood fore arms for my MP5. Do you have any for sale?

I wish I could help you, but I am near the bottom of my wood pile. I have 2 93/33 length sets, and a full length set that I am doing a Bi-pod conversion on.
