Its missing the handguards, Inch Gas plug & Front sight post and screw. They want right around 700 for it but I think I can talk em down at least 100.00

That is a steal with that receiver IMHO

What can you tell me about the receiver?

I've understood them to be a well made US receiver and most (not all) were pre-ban which adds more value to some.

Your OP implies you might get it for $500-$600. I believe you will then likely have a nice shooting riFAL for a bargain, or you would have receiver plus a kit that would each bring $500-$600 apiece. A win either way.

"Real" experts will be along soon that can explain more, but that is my two cents.

Given the missing parts, it's still a good deal as is.

Pretty much said it all. Armscorp receivers are generally good, and preban (I was unaware there were some post ban). This makes them of extra value in ban states. Since it's a less known receiver, you may not get as much as an IMBEL, but it's still $450-$500 on a bad day. Then add in the $450-$600 parts kits depending on condition.

I say latch on to it as soon as you can before someone beats you to it. A very good buy to say the least.

It must be inch cut for mags, it has one in it.

Not sure about that. I have several inch mags that have been filed to fit Metric mag wells. Not by me... but they do look cool in rifles that should take Inch mags.

$700 is too high for that build with missing parts. $500 would be more reasonable.
ARMSCORP T48 whether pre-1989 or not means nothing as the ban was an import ban and did not restrict the manufacturing of domestic FAL receivers.
Some states did however ban firearms including receivers by brand name over the next few years. Connecticut was in 1994.
The T48's I built before and after 1989 all had metric cuts in the magazine well and was a part of my modifications of conversion for inch kits.

Hell, I paid $550 for a L1A1 kit that was not complete, and had to buy a $550 DSA Brit L1A1 receiver.

$700 is a steal for this, but if you can get it a little bit cheaper, then all the better. If not, then $700 is still a great deal on this riFAL just waiting to be a complete functioning FAL again.

Lol. Are you wearing striped pants and Keds? If so Save your money and buy some sensible clothes :rofl::rofl:

If you have to forego replacing the stiped pants to buy the SLR it's ok. No one laughs at a guy with a good SLR. The keds can stay as long as you're not wearing skinny jeans.

My best shooting FAL is on an Armscorp receiver. Pain in the ass to build on, but once built, they are great shooters.

I heard from the Armscorp folks they were milled from FN billets. The reference above that they were from Lithgow billets is news to me. I don't recall any other markings on mine, other than Armscorp, I'll check tonight.

while your looking at it wonder why its cut for an inch dust cover and why it has the lithgow cuts on the inside of the rails.

He could stall for two months and the post lamenting that someone bought it while he wrote a Anna Kanerina-size book describing the pros and cons and how they affected him

Still waiting for 4markk to take off his dust cover and take a picture.

I have seen 4 rifles marked armscorp boltamore MD on oneside and T48 on the other that were inch cut on the inside and had the reminants of ABN or ABO stamped under the front mostly machined off but still visible.
