Wow,

Very nice. Best of the inch breed with chrome lined barrels in my opinion. Need some solid wood Slazengers handguards though.

If I'm not mistaken, if you move back to Australia, due to the semi auto ban passed in 1996 will mean your rifles will be staying stateside.

yeah I know home is not the place I left 23 years ago, I know pro shooters do have M14s and I have heard L1A1s ,,, that's a different lic not sure but I'm told there are didferent lic that you can have if you own land and if I was to go back I would never go to the big smoke ,think my spread would be at least 100 hectares Plus down on the south coast

Some fellow that posts videos of his aerial culling on Youtube and FB said that he managed to import two SA58s and an M1A for his business...apparently the cost of importing all three was FAR less than buying one of the few SLRs still on the books down there.

Ozzie Reviews youtube channel did a few videos on this and I've researched it myself elsewhere. Basically unless you are a bonafide pest animal culler or one of a select few dealers that trade in such weapons, you can forget it. Even then the Australian government harasses these pro shooters that cull pests. Shooters that don't work often or go through a thin patch of work have had their weapons stripped off of them.

I do love Australia but unfortunately the sheep and leftists have taken over. At least in New Zealand you can own pistols and centerfire semi auto rifles more easily.

I'm pretty happy with the south island and once I pay off property here I intend on purchasing one there for use for a few months of the year. I might end up with business interests on both ends as well. I do love Australia but I tend to be happier overall in NZ.

I've not been to Tasmania yet and would like to visit all over that island and see what I think.
