View Full Version : How to put on hogue style handgrips?

I'm buying a hogue style tube that doesn't have the slots in the barrel nut to tighten it properly with a torque wrench. If I hand tighten then use a strap wrench to get it to the next hole to align the gas tube hole will that work?

Posting a picture of what you're working with might help. On the other hand iirc the torque range for an ar barrel nut is pretty broad and as long as you aren't a snowflake with girl hands and a limp wrist I would think you would be alright. put a drop of oil on the threads before you start so friction doesn't cause the threads to bind.

Yep, simple as that. Could throw a drop of blue locktite on it if you choose, but that's only if you don't think you've gotten it tight enough to stay. Strap wrench tight should be fine though.
