I have a metric mag that will not lock in. The beak locks but the rear notch does not. Need to file rear notch?

Mark it as "range use only" and/or replace it. Or go ahead and modify it, at the worst you are out $20.

Out of curiosity, can you identify the origin of the "bad" mag?

A CAI receiver that is marked " Made in Canada " is more than likely an IMBEL receiver with inch cuts.

Mag base plate has FAL 308 stamped on it. No other markings. I have 4 others with same mark and have no problems.
