Hi All
I found a couple of slings that are missing the buckles on them. Anyone know of a source for the buckles?

Thanks

Try these folks, Sarge. I'm pretty sure that I've seen them in there some a'whurs. If not, something like 'em that'll do. ;)

How many do you need? I still have some of the black metal ones like the picture.

The sling in the ebay listing is later than the Nam. Seems like that sling came with the A2.

The 52 inch long black "silent sling" came out in 1971-ish. Technically, the slings issued with the M16A2 were 54 inches long, although I am sure the 52 inch version was issued as long as stocks remained. (That example may have been made in the 1970s, you really can't tell without the packaging.)

Theoretically, the silent slings are 'Nam-era', but the more typical Vietnam issue sling would have been the M1 sling in cotton, or later, thin nylon (aka "seat-belt" weave) . . .

They actually have a whole bunch of neat stuff for webbing repair. (https://www.ahh.biz/hardware/military/)

Good point, I believe!

The early SP1s from the sixties had the M1 type sling, but in black.
