So I`m looking into a Glock or 1911.

Are the PT1911's ok, or would I be much better off springing more $$ for a SA?

I've only shot one example, but it was great shooting 1911. It even made me look good. ;)

Well, I got one for the wife..had to replace the bushing (they stated it was in spec) and the fire control parts HTS . It now shoots nice, but for the money I could have bought a colt or Springfield which hold their value better.

the frames and slides that springfield armory use for their guns are made by Taurus in Brazil, inside almost all springfield armory guns you will see a mark, FJT Brazil,

The PT1911 I recently sold was one of most accurate govt. length .45 Autos I've owned. Should have kept it..

I have one, it's accurate, great trigger and reliable. I wish I had sprung for stainless, because I rarely carry it due to rusting concerns.

I read too many tales of woe in Gun Tests 'letters to the editor' to take a chance on any Taurus product.

The frame of the one in the picture claims to be made by IMBEL instead of Taurus.

The frame on my Springfield WWII G.I. model says IMBEL BRAZIL.

Taurus is the company that owns the imbel factory, has been that way for over 40 years...

A friend of mine used to own a PT1911 and he always said he was happy with its accuracy but the extractor broke after 500 rounds. Too many more reputable guns out there for not much more money (generally) for me to roll the dice on a Taurus.

For a while they were junk. I think they have their quality control working . I think they are alright now. As stated you can buy as good a pistol for less in other brands. High Standard, Citadel and a few others in this price range.

Mmmm...my grandma would've said, "She's got a cute build."

Mine would've said similar, "she's got a cute shape."

My other Grandma owned a Taurus...made by Ford Motor Company.

I've never owned a Taurus but dated a couple, back in the day.

Mine would have said, "it is a sin to lust after a woman who isn't your wife."
Pretty sure I'm going to hell.

Are you sure you are not confusing IMBEL with Rossi? IMBEL is a government owned company while Taurus is private and has owned Rossi for a while.
