"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

I missed their attachment to the 173d by being deployed November 1966. It would have been ripper!

Looks like she has her foot kicked out and likely resting the muzzle on her shoe.

Part of the drill was to rest the muzzle on the toecap. :]

After spending hours & hours spit polishing the toe caps to a mirror like finish that idea would **** up all that work. I used to rest it between the bottom two eyelets . Done many ANZAC & rememberence day parades.

Both L1A1s drilled the same way. What I really wonder is what it'd look like if required of the F88....better find some "short people". ...... if you look at the pic you can see a Kiwi member of the party in the background with an F88, they had to change the drill to accomodate the Austeyr. It is one of the reason The Federation Guard (Australian Ceremonial Party) are issued L1A1s, the F88 just looks wrong in such circumstances.

Locally designated "IW Steyr" the delay in widespread adoption of LMT MARS has meant "IW Steyr is still utilised by elements. :(

While I'm glad they use SLRs in this role, a part of me is surprised they don't use SMLEs...especially for the recognition of Gallipoli.
