LGS just got a stamp in the mail today. Snail mailed in June 2016. Approved April 2017. By my count that is 10 long months. By that speed I still have 3 more months to wait.

Anybody else got any time frame references?

I haven't seen anything break into July, but seen a few late Junes

I mailed mine on July 12th, i think with the mass influx in July, I will be looking May-June at this rate.

You can use this site for stats: http://www.nfatracker.com

What annoys me is the that you can buy the latest and greatest but by the time you get it something better has been released.

I submitted a F4 for an MG in late December/early January. I will be thrilled if it's approved before the first quarter of 2018.

Hello all, I'm also waiting on two form 4s.. They were both submitted early November 2016. When I contacted the ATF I was told in the 45 days prior to the 41f rule change they received well over 300,000 applications. At that time it had taken them approximately 2.5 months to work through thoes applications. However, after the rule change went into effect the number of applications they received dropped significantly. When I talking to them they implied about an eight-month wait time for form 4s. We will see...

Also, has anyone here try to hanging a can off of their FAL?

Any tips on gas settings? I will be running a AAC 762SD. As for the other 11 I don't think I want to know...

Yes, 16" short gas with AAC 762SDN which is a long but quiet can. Right now it's next to bed with an AAC 762SDN-6 which is much shorter. Have four rifles in rack next to bed with cans. 5.56 SBR with red/green dot sight (compatable with N.V. monocular) and binary trigger, 6.8 spc II with red dot, 5.56 with 6x night vision scope for sniping varmints and the FAL.

http://i63.tinypic.com/3310wuo.jpg

In addition to rearranging the cans so the FAL has the short can, it also has optics swapped to this configuration. The SCAR has nicest battle scope ever used leave it at 1x and just flip a lever for 4x and easiest to use in-scope range finder of all tried.

http://i68.tinypic.com/wxex.jpg

The red dot for CQB and 1-4x scope for medium range work. With the AAC 762SDN-6 if turn gas to lowest setting it runs fine. With most cans have to modify a gas plug with smaller hole or overgas the rifle and shred brass. If run the 762SDN without turning down gas it bends the rims, the -6 with gas adjustment and it purrs like a kitten and runs like a sewing machine. Stimpsonjcat has forgotten more about supressing an FAL than I will ever know. Considering a 338 multicaliber can to see if have to monkey with gas to not run too hard. Have discovered using the 30 caliber quick change cans on any under 30 caliber rifle and gas system doesn't back up and overpressure the gun.

Yes - buy a spare gas plug and send it to member "stimpsonjcat" to be welded up and redrilled with a smaller port. This will be your "supressed" gas plug and restrict the amount of gas to cycle the action so you don't get nearly so much blowback.

He's done many like this, and all he asks in return is that you donate to his Relay For Life event when it comes time.

Wow! Is this your first NFA item? Still think if a person has one already, subsequent units should run fast. Why drag out someone if have already gone through the system, especially on third and so on units.

Not my first. I already have a few SBRs, and five other cans. This was an impulse buy at a local gun shop before the new trust rules came into effect. Amazing that it does take so long.

I was running mine wide open on a para. Pulled down last nite and the guide rod is beat up. Probably not as big of an issue on a regular butt stock. Guess the gas plug thing will be in the works. Transferring it to an STG in the meantime

Thanks again for the info. PM sent to Stimpsonjcat... To correct my self I am getting the 762SD NOT THE 762SDN6. I still mix them up sometimes. Is that the vortex Strike Eagle that you're running on your FAL? If so how do you like it? I put on a 556 build i did but have yet to shoot it any. Also that looks like the eclan on your scar... I have heard good things about them but have not found one in person to put my hands on.

After reading all the post about the wait time really puts a damper for me on getting anything else.......I have several Form 4's that were as short as just over one month but that was several years ago. One the other hand like in the 70's the times were as now. I guess poor employ work was partly to blame then and i would think the high number of filed forms now is the reason.

Do you think the "Hearing protection" act or what ever it is called will ever come about in regard to suppressors?

9 months now on a paper Form 1 I sent in August. I figured I've got to be getting close, so I ordered my material this week. And the dang stuff is here already - now I get to test my discipline to see if I can keep from touching it until the magic paper arrives.

I wonder if the recent NFA branch changes are going to hurt civilian xfer times?

It would be difficult to make it worse, but I think they can manage to screw it up worse than it already is.

My guess the answer is going to be "yes" while it helps speed up government transfers.

From what I have gathered, gov't has a hiring freeze.

If that's the case, I suspect they took away personnel from civilian transfers to help handle government (F5) and industry (F3's).

I supposed they could make it worse by taking away one of the two people doing civie transfers. Bastards.
