What length action?
What distance between front and rear action screws?
One or two piece floorplate?
Wood or synthetic?
Featherweight, sporter, or heavy barrel channel :?

There are a lot more variables with pre/post/classic/push/controlled/Winchester/USRA/ect...

Thanks, I'll find the answers to those questions and post a reply.

I know for one it's a wood stock he wants.

It's vintage is a bit of a must for your quest, pre/post and so on are all different.

Flee-Bay usually has a pretty good selection of NOS with really pretty wood (advertised as "Super Grade").....BUT there are a lot of different variations, one sizes does not fit all.

I'm going to have a look at the rifle in the am.

Is there a serial number break to know about to identify the rifle ?

How do I tell if it's pre or post 1964 ?

I have possession of the rifle now so can take and post pics of specific areas to identify the vintage.
