View Full Version : Gas Tube

I just noticed after veiwing gunplumbers vedio that my gas tube on the parts kit I bought from Tapco does not have the two holes he made mension of for alignment. (The two vent holes that are to prevent over pressure in the gas tube). He was saying that they were suppose to be pointing down toward the barrel so that the proper gas hole is in alignment with the gas port. Has any body elae run into this? Is it a problem? Should I replace it?
I measured the gas piston it measured 0.430.

If you are talking about the two round holes about two inches down from the threads mine has them but it has also got two slots in the threads and I dont know if it is supposed to have two of them I thought only one.

Here are some pics of a new gas tube with flats on the threads and 180-degree-opposed vent holes.
Some tubes have the holes about 120-degrees-opposed. It doesn't matter whether the holes on the 120-version point up or down.
