Handguards are in excellent almost NOS shape and would probably bring over $300 here in the states.. the buttstock is heavily sanded and isn't worth much. Carry handle is good, pistol grip about average condition.

Kindof off-topic, but interesting.

I was searching on unit insignia to find out what the blue/white "flag" on several of my Brit plastic sets was, and found this pic from the Faulklands.

Yes, some Brit troops were captured by the Argies.

----- On the early morning hours of April 2, 1982, Santa Fe, by nature of her shallow draft for a large submarine, helped to land some 120 Buzos Tácticos, an elite force of Argentine naval commandos, just outside Port Stanley. These commandos assaulted the (empty) Royal Marine barracks at Moody Brook and took prisoner after a short series of lop-sided skirmishes, the Royal Marines in Port Stanley. -----

What was interesting was the RMC still had wood furniture.

Actually, the entire garrison ended up surrendering after a pretty good showing. 57 RM vs 600 Argentine Marines and SF. Quite a few of the RM garrison, immediately turned around when repatriated and participated in Op Corporate.

The old school SLR's were because the armory was shared/pooled with the Falklands Islands Defence Force, which is kind of like the National Guard. Also nobody seriously expected Argentina to make a play. The TO&E was more aligned to reservists.

I'll be at the Argentine national monument this Sunday in B.A. to pay my respects on Malvinas day as I'm down there on business.
