View Full Version : L1A1 Replacement Springs/ Carry handle question
June 10, 2002, 19:46
Found that my new (to me) L1A1's recoil springs are busted and wondering where I could get new ones. Have looked at a few places on the Internet and haven't found any yet.
Also, want to replace my crummy carrying handle with a new one I bought a while back. Is this very difficult? Thanks in advance.

Try Tapco for the springs, they should have them.
As for the carry handle.
1. remove the gasplug and piston.
2. remove the hand guards.
3.Back off on the nut on the receiver end of the gas tube. Use a old fashion can opener for a wrench.
4. Pull out the handle.
5. Reassemble in reverse order.
Very easy. Have fun,shoot safe.

DSA has a spring set for the metric rifle. Recoil springs and most others except for the sear and trigger return springs are the same or they list recoil springs separately. Gunthings or L/FN may have them also.
