I don't know much about the Commonwealth or Inch pattern versions of the FAL, and while checking out the various photo threads [Canadian, British, Aussie, etc] I noticed that type 1 receivers dominated. My question is were all Commonwealth SLRs/FALs built on T1s or if not, then when and from which countries did Inch pattern T2 and T3 receivers enter production.

The answer is yes. Australian, Canadian and British.

Type 1, 2 and 3 are associated with metric type receivers.. Inch receivers are different though they mostly resemble metric type 1 receivers.

Within inch receiver types you do not have versions such as 1, 2 and 3 as you see with metrics that changed over time as production went on. With inch receivers there are differences based on country of origin and they stayed pretty much the same throughout production from the first to the last rifle.

Aussie and Canadian receivers are similar but have minor differences in the magwell and ejection port lightening cuts while Brit and Indian are similar and differ from Aussie and Canadian as they also have different cuts around the hinge pin area and a couple of other small changes.

I borrowed this pic from someone here a long time ago and it's not that great of a photo, but it does show some of the differences in the three Inch receivers.

And to confuse you even more, the first several tens of thousand of Canadian receivers had the Type 1 style large magwell cut instead of the smaller Brit/Aussie style.
