View Full Version : Has this Trilux cover had the tabs cut?

Title says it all. I'm new to this. I know Trilux sights are made with inch pattern covers of course and should have tabs, but this cover does not look like anybody ground anything off and looks different than the pictures that I can find with tabs. Ex Rhodesian army and definitely original. Input greatly appreciated.

No, that's a factory made cover. I don't know the history of them all, never cared much. But I know metric covers were also made for the trilux, the Israelis used them. Had one once, the mount was well worn, the spring on the mount lever was weak, and the sight wasn't very solid, wouldn't hold zero. It was an Israeli issue piece.

Looking at the photo the obviously assessment is No.
If the rear tabs were cut off the top cover section there would be a slight vertical cut showing. The bump you see is actually on the sight base affixing it to the top cover.
I believe the Trilux top cover was designed for use on both inch and metric FAL's.
