I remember reading in a book somewhere about reducing HK 91 trigger weight by replacing the HK trigger pack with a Cetme one. Has anyone tried this? I don't have a spare cetme trigger pack at the moment and I don't want to buy one if it doesn't work, so I thought I would ask.

If I don't end up doing this than I`ll probably get a trigger job done by Bill Springfield, but it can't hurt to ask.

Do a search on Bill Springfield trigger jobs and think long and hard on that idea.

Well I hope this is just a bump in the road for Bill. I've heard nothing but good reports on his work. Everyone goes thru health issues and/or life altering family problems. I know I have. I hope he gets squared away and can continue to do good work.

Indeed.

However, while we wait for Bill to get squared away, I might try these folks http://www.williamstriggers.com/index.html

Anyone tried them? If I do, I will post the results here.

Its either that or a PSG1 trigger. For $900 from HKparts.

Curious about the op's original question about substituting a CETME trigger pack. Anyone know?

After some research, I have decided to send the trigger pack to WTS for work. On their website, they list the pull weights of Hk91s and Cetme's as issued, but in different charts. They are almost identical. See for yourself http://www.williamstriggers.com/page3.html

So I`m not thinking swapping trigger packs will make much difference.

His work has been shit since the day he started. There has been no change. No excuses. He's a dangerously incompetent hack.

I'm going to call bullshit on WTS claims for 5-6 pounds 6 pounds is possible, maybe, with a weak hammer spring. But you're not going much below that without replacing springs with weaker ones, and that results in light primer strikes. 5 pounds is just bullshit.

Eliminating everything but the mechanics of the parts themselves, I've nailed a consistent, repeatable 7 pounds across dozens of groups. Rearrange all the parts, same result. You just physically cannot overcome 7 pounds of spring with a 5 pound trigger!

I have used the Williams modified trigger, and it's pretty cool - Just a piece of bar stock replacing the curved portion, making it more like a PSG-1. It's nice. They used to make an extended selector that was nice as well. Their set trigger - well, if you like a gun firing when you move the selector lever, go for it. I like the idea but it just isn't safely reliable in my opinion.
