For anyone that's interested, there's an original 1A1 for sale on GB right now. Pricy, but looks to be kosher original.

I am guessing this is one of the LEO guns that has not been bastardized. Looks nice.

I'd love to have that Hindu riFal but at that price, wife said I would have to sell a kidney first. I reckon I may need two for now, so I'm going to just watch the auction and see if it sells. :bitenails:

I know all sales are what one is willing to spend to obtain them, but $5K. I'd rather save a few thousand more for a G series. Though a matching Indian 1A1 with that receiver does seem rare.

LOL, that may be a fitting way to pay for an Indian rifle. I heard there is quite an organ market over there.....

I have a century bastard child Indian LEO 1A1. It's mostly B58, B60, B61 on an Indian receiver. I would say mine is worth $2800 to $2900.
$5000 seems a little high for that one, even if it is scarce.

I wonder if based on the price of this rifle it puts non matching LE rifles at very little over half of the value of it. I know the selling price will tell the story.

Century LEO's had been a little under factory FN's for a while. I would be surprised to see a Century LEO rifle bring G series money.

So, what does the collective see for a Brit Century LEO L1A1 going for? Mixed upper and lower, looks like a fresh FTR.

$2600-3200 depending on condition and provenance would be my take. In *todays* market. They were more expensive for the last year, as was everything - looming spectre of a ban etc. That Indian is overpriced IMHO, by about $1000, the other LEO on GB is overpriced by about $1800.

They've been waay cheaper in the past. People will tell you all day long about sub-$1000 LEO's at gunshows etc. I'm certain those are still out there as well, or in Pawn Brokers used to dealing with Fudd guns.

My speculation is based on owning 3, purchased or traded in the last 3 years. The most I paid was more than even the 1A1 is for sale at - that's because it had been essential brought up to NOS standard, had a complete set of date matched parts installed, a brand new barrel and was superbly restored by ARS. It also had a date appropriate SUIT sight that was not an anonymous FTR and a couple of original hang tags.

I paid large for it, because it was exactly precisely the Gat I carried in the Army, so for me, it's more than a FAL, it's a nostalgic time capsule. Each to their own.

That looks like an authentic Indian staple in the last picture...that has to raise the value a bit. Gives it that true Indian look.:D

Haha!! I have some that are stapled and wired together. One looks like young Hindu Frankenstein tried to bring it back to life with a row of Staples...lol
