Stupid. The AK is a better weapon. But part of this decision is to tweak Moscows nose.

Good luck with that... Maybe something piston driven would work but "M16" fed soviet crap I do not think so:rofl:

Eugene would say if you're going to shoot crappy ball powder to at least clean it and use a forward assist

Their military it's marginal for fighting. UPA Militia made of immortals does real fighting. Maybe it makes sense for them to use what Russia use and supply,

They are likely sitting on a mountain of 7.62 left over from the old USSR days. I'm guessing that once these supplies drop below a certain level then they will do a caliber change to the M16s.. Unless the US or other NATO countries offer up some 5.56 for free or at a price to good to say "no" to.

I'd bet we're supplying M16s and/or components to Ukraine and their manufacturing a model that fires 7.62x39 is simply their way of utilizing existing ammo stocks. Best of both worlds until they run low on 7.62, them I'd imagine they'll adopt 5.56 NATO to take advantage of further foreign aid availability.

I'd take in a few lonely cases of 7.62x39, they could sell it off in the USA and just buy 5.56.
AP, API, Tracer would be nice to have items.;)

Hell, the way folks are around here, they could post their entire stock in the market place and it would be gone in a week!;):D:bow:
