Hello all,

I have what may be a dumb question...

Is there any such thing as a factory Poly Tech AKS-762 black side folder? Here are a few photos of one that is listed for sale locally that has been "customized".

I have found the Chinese hand guards, Chinese brake and Chinese pistol grip in black but I am uncertain if there was ever one sold in a black sider folder configuration. I want to make an offer on the rifle with the hopes of restoring it back to its original look, but I am not too sure if there was ever such a thing.

Thanks for any help in advance:bow:

.223 version folder, model 84s-5 had black side folding furniture.

That rifle you posted pictures of is a very desirable factory and model (416 Polytech side folder). Buy it and put some original matching red bakelite on it. It would be worth about $2200.

Here are some pictures

I am aware that there was a Norinco 84S-5A black side folder.

Did KFS ever bring in AKS-762's with black side folding stocks? I found some black plastic furniture sets on the current Poly Technologies retail website and it would set me back a little over $100.

It would not take much to "un-screw" the rifle, if there was ever such thing. The guy locally is asking $2K for the rifle in question.

Never seen an original black side folding 7.62x39. That rifle originally had red furniture. It will cost about $600-700 to find the correct furniture, muzzle nut and sling. $2000 is high the way it is now.

Thanks fellers,

I appreciate your input and knowledge. I am going to pass on the rifle I do not want to insult this guy with an offer of half of his asking price.

I recall that they were cheap; I do not recall them being a POS.
