I bought a couple of these magazines a few years ago. Took them apart to de-grease them, and the floorplate on one broke when reassembling them.

This one was M.I.A. for a while, but now that it's back I'm wondering if anyone can help me out.

Is this a 5 round CETME mag? I can't find these anywhere online and I need to know what you would do to replace the floorplate.

Thanks in advance.

Yup, that's a 5 round CETME mag as supplied with the Century C308 rifles.

If you can't find a new floorplate, maybe you could JB Weld a piece of thin flat steel or aluminum stock to the bottom of the floorplate to hold it together?

Just buy a Cetme mag and take the floor plate off it.

You could do that, too. Do they sell hem separately? I can't imagine there is much market for them. I can't picture hunters carrying 9 lbs of CETME on a deer hunt. At least not in my neck of the woods.

at 3 bucks a mag it doesn't matter. get them at a gun show for less. I got a bunch for 1.50 a piece. not for sell.

So the 5 rounder has the same floorplate as the 20 round CETME mags? I'd never thought about that. Makes sense. All mine are G3 mags, and they have a very different floorplate. I've never seen an original CETME mag up close.

I figured they were CETME mags. All mine are HK mags, and the floorplate is quite different.

I'll have to poke around online for an actual CETME mag for sale.

Thanks gentlemen!

EDIT: After looking around online, the floorplates on the 20 round CETME mags look to work completely differently than the 5 rounders.

Here you go. FAL mag, Cetme, Cetme, and HK.

Take a HK or Cetme floor plate from a 20 rounder and trim it to fit using a Dremel tool. If you need any tips on how to use a Dremel tool contact WEG.

Yep on the JB weld.
JB the plate together, then cut a piece of aluminum from a soda can, and epoxy the aluminum to the floor plate, assemble and forget.:D
Of course I use duck tape on AR mags with busted tabs that hold the floor plate in place,,,,,
So maybe I'm not the best resource.;)

Can you use a wooden pegged 20 round magazine to hunt with in your state?
Or does it have to be a dedicated five round magazine.

20 gauge sheet metal....it took me longer to post pics that it did to make this.
Granted, I just happened to have a piece the right thickness.
I didn't have time to cut the tab before posting. It probably doesn't need to be anything special, just so long it has something to lock it in place. I'll see what I come up with later today.

PM your address and I'll send it over when it's done....I may even cold black it for you.
You have two threads running on different boards, I replied to both.

It's later, I have your part finished.
I did put some heat to it and quenched it but by no means does it meet military spec.

Thank you!

Yes, I started two threads on two boards to try to get as much advice as I could.

This is exactly what I wanted to do, but I don't have the tools to cut the plate, much less finish it like you did.

I'll PM you with details.

Worked out great, thanks!

Original is on the left, 21HK's handiwork is on the right.
