Took a couple of the old war horses out to help burn up some HXP 72.
I think I gave my shoulder more of a workout than the targets.
I shot a 5 rnd warm up for each rifle then tried to see the darn targets.
Cloudy today so not such a good sight picture with either rifle. Had fun at any rate. I did resort to using the limb saver after the first 5 rnds.
Getting old and soft for sure.

I love HXP. Shoots great in my Springfield bolt guns and Garands. Wish I bought a whole pallet of it. Down to just a few cases. Great brass by the way.

Agree. Loaded lots myself. I was just trying to smoke up the last of a can I had on strippers. There is at least one lifetime supply left in my stash. That stuff is better than money in the bank.

1903 with some variety of commercial hunting ammunition was the most punishing rifel I have ever fired. I think the shape of the stock, the fact that it's relatively light, and powerful rounds all contributed.

I used to think my Mosins were bad. Getting old is not for sissies.

Hahaha, the comments remind me of shooting Aussie F4 in a 6.5lb Savage bolt gun, about 80-100 rds a sitting. Twice a week if I was lucky--often enough to wear out a few of the substandard Savage extractors in that rifle.

Agreed. There is a reason why I owned two pallet jacks at one time. Guess I'm slowing down...only own one pallet jack now.
