Went with a friend to the range today and he brought along a Century C308. Cocking the gun was super difficult. Had to place it on it's but and use both hands to open the action. After cleaning the crap out of it and lubing it up, the gun was still very difficult to cock. Still requires a two hand charge. Is this a cocking handle issue, roller lock issue or something else? Glad it isn't mine. I realize the Century beavers use any parts laying around to get the gun out the door, but if I can help out a buddy, I'd like to do so. Any feedback appreciated.

Check bolt gap.

Also, check the gap between the bolt carrier and the cocking handle support. If the gap is too wide the cocking handle cannot cam the bolt carrier open, making it very difficult to operate.

His problem is one or both of these issues, most likely. Why there's a problem will have to be diagnosed and repaired.
