I have been surfing the web looking for a guide for id'ing the country of manufacture for the few AK47 kits I have, and can't find any references. Can anyone point me in a productive direction?

Thanks Jim

Would be easier if you posted pictures of the barrel trunnions.

This is a good book. Lots of breakdown by country and it's nuisances.

Can you tell from those two pics what kind of AK47 this is?

Thanks

I thought the arrow inside triangle was izhevsk?

It's Romanian. Russian arrow has fletchings on the tail. Looks like he's also holding it in the second photo by the wood dong grip, which is most definitely Romanian.

Romanian arrow in triangle is often confused with the similar Russian marking. Russians also never had the year in a plain year format as seen on this trunnion.

Edit.. after further review some russian kits do have the date stamped in a plain year format on the trunnion. In this case the arrow without fletchings still says romanian.
