hi there

is fitting a silencer / suppressor to the FN FAL (rhodesian) advise able?

If it's possible does one need to make modifications?

and what type or make is the best for the job.

Regards Craig

Biggest mod you'd likely have to make is your muzzle device and/or barrel threads. Beyond that, to avoid the ass-pain of having to mess with your gas reg when swtiching between can/no-can, the OSS 7.62 suppressor seems like it would work very well. Would also avoid the wear/tear associated with the added blowback of 'standard' cans. Research them a little to see what exactly I'm talking about. I might have missed something, so anyone else please chime in as you see fit... -Art

A modified gas plug will be a big benefit. Member Stimpsonjcat here helped out quite a few with just that.

Might try a search to find the thread.

One more thing to note your laws and thus what you can have for silencers are different then the USA ..here it is a whole long deal to get one ..Last I looked in SA there is less reg on them so you will have different selection /types etc

The two biggest thing is the gas system and making sure the threading and good and in line on the gun so nothing goes awry
