Just a little update with some pics. Finally got around to taking the recently acquired M3 to the range. It runs great. I shot a variety of stuff, from bulk birdshot, to buckshot and a few slugs with no hiccups. The rifle sights seem to work well and are pretty much dead on. They are kind of course, with a wide rear notch so I don't think they will slow me down much. It's a little different in pump mode than I'm used to. Not bad, I don't think. Just different.

I've got a Super 90 M3. Best shotgun I ever owned.

Within its limitations, it is a fine gun.

What are these "limitations" you speak of lol. Barrel length and having a fixed cylinder choke are the ones I see. I'm gonna send the barrel to be cut for choke tubes and the forcing cone lengthened. A 2"extended mod or IM choke tube should fill the bill nicely for run and gun games and occasional clays.

You may end up paying through the nose to have it cut for tubes. IIRC the tactical barrels are all chrome lines and that eats the crap out of the reamers used to cut the barrel for the tubes. Most LGS around here also add the cost of new reamers into that particular job.

I actually found a 24" Field barrel for my M1S90 with all of the tubes. Added a turkey tube and buckshot tube and it worked well for the 3 gun stuff. Might be cheaper than the above procedure.

I really miss my S90. I wish I had never sold it.

Speaking of its limitations, mine has only got a 20" barrel that is cylinder bore for using buckshot and slugs, which are, in both cases, a short range affair.

For hunting or shooting clays I would need a longer barrel with chokes.

Carlson's will thread my barrel for $190. That includes the extra charge for chrome lining and 3 extended choke tubes. They will also lengthen the forcing cone for $45. Benelli barrels tend to be high when the come up for sale.

The M1S90 in the pics WAS my 3 gun shotgun lol. My daughter has now claimed it as her skeet/trap shotgun.
