I have a Sig P210-6 that came with two magazines. CDNN at that time offered new P210 magazines for $80 a pop. I bought two of them so now I possess four magazines. These days a used P210 magazine goes for $150 or more.

In my safe are two Walthers. A P1 and a commercial P38. I have a bunch of magazines for these pistols and I could not help noticing that the P38 magazine is virtually identical to the P210 magazine. The P38 magazine will enter the P210 magazine well perfectly but the P210 magazine catch will not engage the P38 floor plate due to its being just a few thousandth's of an inch too long.

Has anyone ever altered the floor plate of a P38 magazine so it will work with the P210? If so, what did you do to accomplish this?

And so it goes.

Do not have a 210, but on ebay magazines are running $50 bucks and up.

I have a Sig Sauer P6, and an older 225, basically the same thing. The P6 magazine looks like a P38 magazine but, P6 magazines are about 1/4" shorter. Sounds like the P6 magazine would be too short for your 210, but if you know someone who has a P6, you could compare and see. P6 magazines are more reasonably priced.

P6/P225 Mark 1 magazines certainly look the similar to P210 and P38 mags but I have never had them side by side to compare.

Any P210 magazine listed on E-bay for $50 is almost certainly an after market unit. Most likely ProMag which has a very spotty reputation for their P210 magazines.

And so it goes.

I was going to do the exact same thing, but I think the follower angle is not right, and nogo on the slide lockback either,
but then sig re issued new mags and I bought them when they were 70 dollars, they needed a small pad milled into the floorplate so the heel catch could slip over, and they work flawlessly.

Not to sound rude but I'm not going to experiment with a pistol I paid over 2K for. I'll just pony up the cash and use what was designed for it.

I bought the P210-6 NIB in 2002 for $1680 OTD. Paid CDNN $170 including shipping for the two extra magazines. Total investment $1850.

I read about people paying $2500 and up for a P49 with one mag. Maybe one of these days I will put the P210-6 with all four magazines up for sale and ask $3000 for it.

It was just an idea about using P38 magazines in the P210-6. I need to take the Sig out for some range time this year if it ever quits raining and warms up above the mid 50's.

And so it goes.
