Friend wants to sell me one that he says jams all the time. Can't get past three rounds and it jams. Tried another mag and different ammo but gun no run. Bought it new and never worked right but would rather sell it than send it back. You guys know anything about these?

That they are rumored to be reliable. :whistling:
Is it the 22/45?
What's the issue. Ftf? FTE?

I bought a 22/45 lite to host my Liberty Essence and out of the box that thing was a turd, every 2 to 3 rounds it would jam. I installed a hammer bushing and its been flawless ever since.

It's the Lite model with the barrel shroud and holes in the shroud. FTF and FTE plus the mag won't stay in.

The mags are funny. They wont lock in if you push them straight in like all the other rugers. You have to push the base forward when the mag is fully inserted into the frame to seat it all the way. We picked up one for my sister and that was the only way I could get the mag to seat properly. It was a 22/45 Lite, we shot about 400 rounds to help break it in, with one FTF.

I've seen many that appear to have the bottom of the backside of the frame where the frame meets the top of the mag base (indicated by arrow in the picture) filed back a bit (maybe to allow the mag to set further up?) The one we got for my sister was filed this way. Don't know if its factory or bubba mod.

When I get a chance I will get photos of my sisters ruger, to better explain what I'm talking about.

Went to look real hard at it today, here when you buy a gun from friend to follow the law you must transfer through a dealer at about $45 dollars more with BC. Checked the mag thing and it's just like you guys said, you have to move floor plate to get the mag to latch in. Both mags won't lock just by pushing it in, it takes that little side push.

Guy has a set of wood grips and houge grips plus the original grips. Comes with scope rail and fixed sites plus the guy added a green hi vis front site and a Ruger gun rug. Will be $345 in it and a new one here is $439 so I hope it doesn't take lots to fix it.

Clean it.

Run factory mags with Mini-Mag ammo.

If it won't run that, you're fooked.

Like I said before, they're supposed to be real reliable. My sisters 22/45 ran about $400, which is fair. Not a screaming deal, but its a nice gun. Only issue I've seen is the odd mag angle not locking up without some fiddling.

*edit. I did not care for the trigger. Try that out before you buy it.

I've been thinking about switching to one in place of my buckmark for suppressor use.
