100 yds with the stock 230 gr bullet? Thought I'd give it try and looking for a starting point.

Aiming about 18" over the top of a 10" steel plate will ring it with mine (when I do my part correctly).

I have no idea what part of the plate it hits so YMMV.

Seek out LtCol Jeff Cooper,,think he also fired a Thompson from his chin.

We tried,,hit the USMC "Dog" target,,,think M203,.
About 45-60,elevation of arms:biggrin:

I use about a (right) thumb width for an 18" target.

I don't use hold over, just use more front sight above the rear sight.

Then put up a tall paper target and tune in, then you will know Your pistols hold over.

I had an off breed 1911 that was a real crapper when it came to anything over 25 yards, about 4ft of holdover at 100 with it, so ya do have extremes. :)

When shooting a .45 1911 handgun with Novaks at 200 yards, I just align to the side of the target with the bottom of my front sight, then move it over to cover target as a I pull the trigger.

Same with my Glock. I'm assuming the 9mm is a flatter trajectory, but it's also a shorter sight.

With a Red dot, I just aim for the top of the head.
