Unless someone can talk me out of it. I am leaning heavily towards a Gemtech Quicksand. It has a relatively high Db reduction of 32Db. I'd like to hear some pro's and con's from any real world experiences. Planning on using it with a Rock River Delta CAR upper .300 Blackout with Lapua 200 gr bullets for subsonic loads.

Thanks,

krf

It looks good
As you already know, it's a 9" can. Being titanium, it's not going to be as heavy as most other 9" cans.
I have 9" SpecWar 7.62 on a 14.5" BLK. It really isn't too long or too front heavy. The Quicksand should be a little better

If you have any trouble with cycling, an adjustable gas block will cure it.
I don't know if a 200gr bullet will be heavy enough for sub-sonics

I put together a 8.5"bbl SBR to shoot subs. Keeping a 200gr bullet sub-sonic is easy with a short barrel. A lot more difficult with a 16" bbl

I have a Sandstorm and I love it on my 700 308. Basically a sneeze and a crack downrange. ;)

Looks nice. I'm new to the club and mine haven't arrived, but my choice would be a 45ca pistol supressor. They are rated for subsonic 300. Plus you get to spend more money on barrels and such. But, you can hook the QS on to a 308.

I don't know man - that Silencer co Omega was dead quiet with Sub .300 B.O. - like quieter than a MP5 SD - just bullet impact and action cycle quiet but that was with 220gr pills.

My Omega gets out of jail this month and it'll go on my 8.5"bbl SBR

We'll find out if it's as quite as the SpecWar. Maybe just internet BS but supposedly the Omega doesn't work all that well on 308 Win or supersonic 300BLK

I have a Rugged Suppressor Surge 7.62 waiting on stamp approval now. The Quicksand is lighter but the Rugged Surge is modular. I like the mounting of the Quicksand but the Rugged Surge locks up very tight.

What made me lean more towards the Rugged Surge was it was modular and a little cheaper than the Quicksand and the rock solid mounting.

I keep notes on rude suppliers. I like to avoid them and go with their competitors.

I also have a Sandstorm, very light and I'm very happy with the sound reduction. I use it on my Keltec RFB, 8.5 inch 300BLK, Remington 308 bolt, Sig 556, and various AR's. You won't be disappointed.
