View Full Version : M1 Garand fiberglass stocks?

I've seen these advertised,usually with the caveate "not for shooting live ammo" or some such. What is it about these that makes this so? They appear fairly heavy built. It would make a nice all-weather paintable stock set if it would hold up.

"These stocks were designed for drill teams and are in inexpensive way to re-stock a Garand. We do not recommend it for accuracy or heavy shooting but they can be used for occasional use. We recommend walnut or laminate stock for a rifle that is going to be shot regularly."

I believe those are made of plastic - not fiberglass - not very stiff.

I think Bell & Carlson made a synthetic Garand stock & hand guards at one point - might find one of those used.
